Call People To The Way Of Your Lord With Wisdom
[ALLAH’S Quran- 16:125] “Call people to the Way of your Lord with wisdom and best advice, and reason with them, if you have to, in the most courteous manner: for your Lord knows best who strays from His Way and He knows best who is rightly guided.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) has said: [Muslim, Book #034, Hadith #6470] “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect.”
[Malik’s Muwatta, Book #15, Hadith #15.9.41] “Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “No one calls to guidance without having the same reward as those who follow him without diminishing their rewards at all. And no one calls to error without having the same burdens as they do without diminishing their burdens.”

Status Of Earlier Revelations In Islam
1. The Book: Allah’s Quran
[Quran – 2:2] “This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear God;”
2. Allah Informed mankind about the need for Allah’s Guidance
[Quran – 2:213] “All Mankind were once one single community; [then they began to differ -] whereupon God raised up the prophets as heralds of glad tidings and as warners, and through them bestowed revelation from on high, setting forth the truth”
3. Allah Informed mankind about His Revelations to His Messengers
[Quran – 35:32] “Then (after every Messenger), We have made those of Our servants whom We chose heirs to the Book (to preserve and teach it, and secure its practice in daily life)”
4. Allah Informed mankind about some of the recipients of His Book
[Quran – 2:136] “Say: “We believe in God, and in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, and that which has been bestowed upon Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and, their descendants, and that which has been vouchsafed to Moses and Jesus; and that which has been vouchsafed to all the [other] prophets by their Sustainer: we make no distinction between any of them. And it is unto Him that we surrender ourselves.”
5. Allah Granted Moses (PBUH), The Book
[Quran – 2:53] “And remember when We granted Moses (while he was on Mount Sinai for forty nights) the Book and the Criterion to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and the knowledge, and power of judgment to put it into effect, that you might be guided to truth and abide by it.”
6. Prophet Moses’s Book was Torah (Taurat)
[Quran – 5:44] “Truly, We caused the Torah to descend wherein is guidance and light. The Prophets give judgment with it, those who submitted to God, for those who became Jews and the rabbis and learned Jewish scholars who committed to memory the Book of God and they had been witnesses to it. So dread not humanity, but dread Me. And exchange not My signs for a little price. And whoever gives not judgment by what God caused to descend, those, they are the ones who are ungrateful.”
7. Allah Gifted David (PBUH) with Psalms (Zabur)
[Quran – 17:55] “And it is your Lord that knoweth best all beings that are in the heavens and on earth: We did bestow on some prophets more (and other) gifts than on others: and We gave to David (the gift of) the Psalms.”
8. Allah Gifted Jesus (PBUH) with Gospel (Bible)
[Quran – 5:46] “And We sent following in their footsteps, Jesus son of Mary, one who establishes as true what was before him in the Torah. And We gave him the Gospel in which is guidance and light, and that which establishes as true what was before him in the Torah and a guidance and admonishment for the ones who are Godfearing.”
9. Allah’s Continuation of Revelation
[Quran – 2:87] “For, indeed, We vouchsafed unto Moses the divine writ and caused apostle after apostle to follow him; and We vouchsafed unto Jesus, the son of Mary, all evidence of the truth, and strengthened him with holy inspiration.”
10. Allah Confirmed The Truth of Earlier Revelations
[Quran – 2:101] “For, indeed, We vouchsafed unto Moses the divine writ and caused apostle after apostle to follow him; and We vouchsafed unto Jesus, the son of Mary, all evidence of the truth, and strengthened him with holy inspiration.”
11. Allah’s Command to followers of Earlier Revelations to Believe in Quran
[Quran – 2:41] “Believe in what I have revealed in the Qur’an which confirms the Divine source of your own Scriptures. Do not be the first who reject Qur’anic revelations. Do not trade away my revelations for small profits and be at awe with none but Me.”
Also:
[Quran – 21:7] “O people of the Book, believe in what We have revealed, which confirms what is already with you before We disfigure your visages and turn your faces about and curse you, as We did with those who had broken the Sabbath; and what God decrees comes to pass.”
12. Allah Commanded The Prophet (PBUH) to Refer to Earlier Revelations
[Quran – 16:43] “And [even] before thy time, [O Muhammad,] We never sent [as Our apostles] any but [mortal] men, whom We inspired: and if you have not [yet] realized this, ask the followers of [earlier] revelation,”
Also:
[Quran – 21:7] “The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this”
13. Allah Confirms, Falsification, Alteration, Distortion in Earlier Revelations
[Quran – 5:13] “Then, for having broken their solemn pledge, We rejected them and caused their hearts to harden-[so that now] they distort the meaning of the [re-vealed] words, taking them out of their context; and they have forgotten much of what they had been told to bear in mind, and from all but a few of them thou wilt always experience treachery. But pardon them, and forbear: verily, God loves the doers of good.”
[Quran – 11:110] “And, indeed, [similar was the case when] We vouchsafed the divine writ unto Moses, and some of his people set their own views against it; and had it not been for a decree that had already gone forth from thy Sustainer, judgment would indeed have been passed on them [then and there]: for, behold, they were in grave doubt, amounting to suspicion, about him [who called them unto God].”
14. Allah Has informed mankind thus:
“whatever there still remains of earlier revelations!”
[Quran – 34:31] “And [yet,] those who are bent on denying the truth do say, “We shall never believe in this Qur’an, and neither in whatever there still remains of earlier revelations!”

Hadiths: Health And Hygiene
Health and cleanliness and hygiene occupy a great part of Islam’s attention incomparable to any other religion. While some nations adopted such beliefs as abandoning self-care and cleanliness to attain high spiritual ranks, Islam made it obligatory to clean oneself properly in preparation for daily prayers.
In fact, caring for one’s hygiene is not only deemed a good habit in Islam but also rendered into rituals that constitute part of the faith itself. As mentioned above, a Muslim is required to be clean when performing daily Prayers, which include properly cleansing oneself after using the toilet and practicing ablution. In some cases, a full body bath is obligatory such as after spouses’ intimacy.
That is not strange for Islam cares about the well-being of humans both in the world and in the hereafter. A healthy firm believer is better in the sight of Allah than a weak one as the former is more qualified to fulfill the objectives of Islam and serve humanity. Moreover, the great encouragement for cleaning teeth as shown in the hadiths below reveals to what extent Islam was careful even for personal health and hygiene details.
This collection of hadiths presents only some examples of Islam’s stance on health and hygiene:
Cleanliness is part and parcel of faith
1. Abu Malik Al-Ash`ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Purity is half of iman (faith).”
Tooth brushing is highly recommended
2. `A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The miswak (a twig used for tooth brushing) cleanses and purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord.” (An-Nasa’I and Ibn Khuzaimah; authenticated by Al-Albani)
3. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Were it not that I might overburden my followers, I would have commanded them to use the miswak before every prayer.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Personal hygiene is a human nature
4. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Five practices are of the fitrah (natural disposition): circumcision, shaving the pubic region, clipping the nails and cutting the mustaches short.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Rituals on Muslims’ best day
5. Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday.” (Ibn Majah and authenticated by Al-Albani)
Keep environment clean
6. Mu`adh (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet warned, “Beware of the three acts that cause you to be cursed: relieving yourselves in shaded places (that people utilize), in a walkway or in a watering place.” (Ranked sound, hasan, by Al-Albani)
7. Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Removing harmful things from the road is an act of charity (sadaqah).” (Authenticated by Al-Albani)
Using medicine is encouraged
8. Usamah ibn Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions were sitting as (quiet as) if they had birds on their heads. I saluted and sat down.
The desert Arabs then came from here and there. They asked: Messenger of Allah, should we make use of medical treatment?
He replied: “Make use of medical treatment, for Allah has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely old age.” (Abu Dawud and authenticated by Al-Albani)
Be strong and healthy
9. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “A strong believer is better and dearer to Allah than a weak one, and both are good. Keenly pursue what benefits you, seek help only from Allah, and do not give up. If something befalls you, do not say, ‘If only I had done otherwise,’ but rather say, ‘Allah so determined and did as He willed,’ for ‘if only’ opens the door to Satan’s work.” (Al-Bukhari)
Overeating is not healthy
10. Al-Miqdam (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A human being has not filled any vessel worse than [his] stomach. A few bites are sufficient to support his back. If it is inevitable (i.e. eating a lot because he likes eating), then a third for food, a third for drink, and third for his breath” (Imam Ahmad and At-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Al-Albani)

Avoid Suspicion And Malice
[ALLAH’S Quran – 49:12] “O you who believe with hearts reflecting the image of religious and spiritual virtues and their deeds wisdom and piety. Avoid suspicion in many instances and the conjecture of the existence of something evil or wrong without proof; suspicion in some instances is indeed a sin. Nor play the spy upon each other or peer inquisitively and impertinently into the nature of other people’s actions, nor traduce or slander one another by speaking evil or falsehood or speaking maliciously behind his or her back. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother! Indeed you would shrink from it with horror. Therefore, keep Allah in mind and entertain the profound reverence dutiful to Him, Allah is indeed Tawabun (Relenting) and Rahimun (Merciful). Allah indicates to people that He weighs them not by their parentage, lineage, descent or rank in life, but by the image their hearts reflect.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) has said:
[Muslim, Book #032, Hadith #6214] “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Avoid suspicion, for suspicion, is the gravest lie in talk and do not be inquisitive about one another and do not spy upon one another and do not feel envy with the other, and nurse no malice, and nurse no aversion and hostility against one another. And be fellow brothers and servants of Allah.”
[Sunan Abudawud, Book #8, Hadith #1505] “Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to supplicate Allah: “My Lord, help me and do not give help against me; grant me victory, and do not grant victory over me; plan on my behalf and do not plan against me; guide me, and made my right guidance easy for me; grant me victory over those who act wrongfully towards me; O Allah, make me grateful to Thee, mindful of Thee, full of fear towards Thee, devoted to Thy obedience, humble before Thee, or penitent. My Lord, accept my repentance, wash away my sin, answer my supplication, clearly establish my evidence, guide my heart, make true my tongue and draw out malice in my breast.”
[Bukhari, Book #73, Hadith #90] “Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look for the other’s faults and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relation with) one another, and do not hate one another; and O Allah’s worshipers! Be brothers (as Allah has ordered you!)”

Allah Does Not Change A People’s Lot Unless They Change
[ALLAH’S Quran -13:11] “………..Allah does not change a people’s lot unless they change what is in their hearts. But when (once) Allah willeth a people’s punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) has said :
[Bukhari, Book #2, Hadith #49] “Narrated An-Nu’man bin Bashir: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, ‘Both legal and illegal things are evident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most of the people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from these suspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges in these suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near the Him a (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get in it. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Him a and the Him a of Allah on the earth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.”
[Sunan Abudawud, Book #41, Hadith #4923] Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: The Compassionate One has mercy on those who are merciful. If you show mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is in heaven will show mercy to you.
