Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): The Voice Of Truth, Tawheed
With eyes as bright as the shining sun, a reality on the lips more brilliant than the light of the sun, a heart fresher than the flowers of the gardens of Yathrib and Taif, habits and morals more decent than the moonlit nights of the Hejaz, a mind brisker than the strong winds, a captivating tongue, a heart with heavenly light, firm determination like a trenchant sword and heavenly words on the tongue — such was Muhammad (peace be upon him) son of Abdullah, the Prophet who destroyed the idols which had separated brothers from brothers. He did not break only the idols of wood and stone but also broke the idols of wealth, indecent habits, and party spirit.
The only thing which the cowardly Quraish desired was money should be transferred from the hands of the nomadic Arabs to their own pockets. The only value which they attached to life was that in order to earn profit they should travel through the desert on the back of the camels undergoing extreme hardships and then return to their hometown Makkah, the same Makkah which was the city of idol-worship, and where money was the only thing which counted. Suddenly they heard a voice that shook their nerves. Their hopes were shattered. The world turned away its face from them saying: “The value of a man is not the same which you have assessed and the object of the creation of the people is not the same which you think it to be.” This was the voice of Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Banu Asad and Banu Tamim were so foolish and ignorant that they buried their daughters alive without any cause. There was no justification for their doing so except that it was a custom that had survived amongst them. They were opposed to the Divine will. They hated the beauty of nature. And then they heard a voice, which was expressive of deep love and sympathy for the people saying: “Don’t bury your daughters alive. Daughters are as good the creation of Allah as the sons. No human being has a right to deprive others of life. It is only Allah who creates the people and makes them die.” This was the voice of Muhammad.
The Arabs, in the pre-Islamic era, (Jahiliyah) were always fighting. They fought and shed blood for years on account of very trivial things. They killed their own brothers and then rejoiced and glorified themselves on it. To sacrifice their lives for the sake of their own ignorance was something very ordinary for them. The children cried and screamed and grew up in conditions that were not conducive to the creation of love or sympathy for anyone in their minds. In these circumstances, they heard another voice which said “What are you doing? You kill one another although you are all brothers because all of you have been created by Allah. Strife is something satanic. Peace and friendship are more beneficial for you. The blessing for which you fight can’t be achieved except through peace.” This, too, was the voice of Muhammad (PBUH).
During the period of Jahiliyah, the Quraish were known for haughtiness and egotism. They considered the non-Arabs inferior to themselves. Not only this but they did not consider the non-Arabs even human beings. Muhammad (PBUH) disliked this attitude very much. Addressing these proud people he said: “No Arab is superior to a non-Arab unless he is more pious. Whether you like it or not all human beings are brothers of one another.” There were oppressed, homeless, and helpless persons whose faces had been scorched by the hot winds. Society had discarded them and made their lives miserable. They were more humble in the eyes of the people than the particles of sand and their life had become extremely unenviable. And these were the true friends of the Prophet of Islam, just as the indigent and outcasts of the society were the friends of Jesus Christ and other great men of the world.
It was these very people for whose benefit the Prophet of Islam endeavored to prevent the establishment of a dictatorship, disallowed slavery, freed man from the bondage of his fellowmen, and established the public treasury so that all might benefit from it without any discrimination. He directed the efforts of the people toward public welfare. He insisted on the Quraish, who were his kinsmen, at every step, that they should improve their conduct, do good deeds, and keep their attention directed wholeheartedly to Allah, who has united the scattered creation into a single whole. However, the Quraish instigated the ignorant persons as well as their own children to stone and ridicule him. The helpless, oppressed and homeless slaves among whom one was Bilal, the Muezzin of the Prophet, were over-joyful when they heard this: “All human beings are fed by Allah. He likes him most who is more helpful to His creatures.”
Those who were his enemies and stoned and ridiculed him heard these animated Divine words: “And by the mercy of Allah, you (O Muhammad) dealt with them gently. And had you been severe and harsh hearted, they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and ask (Allah’s) Forgiveness for them, and consult them in the affairs. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him).” (Qur’an: 3:159) This was the voice of Muhammad.
The following pure words were imprinted on the minds of those who were endeavoring in the path of Allah for a better life, and were ready to support him (Muhammad) in his campaign against idol worship and evil-doing, and were afraid lest their rights and good conduct might be wasted in the battlefield. “Remember! Don’t be treacherous. Don’t commit a breach of trust. Don’t kill either a child or a woman or an old man or a monk in a monastery. Don’t burn a date palm tree and don’t cut any tree nor pull down a building.” This voice was the voice of Muhammad. After hearing this heavenly voice from Muhammad, his Companions spread it in all the four corners of the world. They covered powerful rulers and kings with this voice, established brotherhood amongst human beings and strung them in one faith, and created the relationship between man and God.
The shade of Muhammad (PBUH) spread so much that the entire Old World came under it and the land from the east up to the west began producing the fruits of goodness, knowledge, peace, and friendship. The Prophet of Islam stretched his hand and sowed the seeds of friendship and brotherhood throughout the world. That hand is still stretched and is busy sowing the seeds. Hence, there is no part of the world wherein the followers of Muhammad (PBUH) are not found. One of them may be in Pakistan and the other may be in Spain, but in spite of this, both of them are treated to be under one and the same standard.
The Prophet provided honor and respect to the Orientals which is even now a shining crown on their heads. This voice of the Prophet was a call for human brotherhood. It stopped the hands of the rulers from reaching the property of the subjects and gave equal rights to all human beings. In his religion there is no discrimination between a common man, a ruler and a subject; an Arab and a non-Arab, because all human beings are the slaves of Allah and it is He who provides sustenance to all of them. This voice emancipated women from the oppression of men, freed the laborers from the injustice of the capitalists, and delivered the servants from the degradation of submission to their masters. As opposed to Plato and other philosophers, who deprive the workers of their social rights on account of their mean occupation and have divided the society into many grades, the Prophet of Islam made all human beings participate in the affairs of government. He also disallowed usury and exploitation of one man by another.

Picking And Choosing From Deen..Is This Obedience?
Among some similarities between the plight that the Bani Israel underwent and today’s Muslims are undergoing: Humiliation at a collective level. Can you believe that the reasons are also the same as per the standards charted out in the Qur’an. A large part of both the communities display obedience to Allah’s law but are choosy in picking up the commandments and leaving the rest.
Surah al Baqarah says in its 86th verse: Then you believe in one part of the book and reject the rest? But most of the Muslims may argue that they believe in the whole Qu’ran and not partly. Let us not forget that Iman, Belief also means action, hence the entire book must be followed and not just a few comfortable verses. There is an example illustrated in the Qur’an. Let me help you in understanding.
Among the covenants that Allah took from the Bani Israel were two clauses: 1. Do not shed your own blood ( Do not kill your fellow believers ) 2. Do not drive your own people out of their houses into exile. ( Surah al Baqarah, verse 84 )
Years before Prophet Mohammed (PBUH ) was born, many Jews settled in Medina in search of the last Prophet to come. They knew that he would be reaching Medina after migration. The main two Jewish tribes were Banu an Nadir and Banu Quraiza. Both the tribes were each other’s enemy and assisted two warring Arab tribes, Aws and Khazraj. When the two Arab tribes fought each of these two tribes also fought with each other. Later, they collected money to free their own Bani Israelis from the enemy camp. e.g. The Banu Quraiza after fighting with Banu Nadir, gave money to set the Bani Nadi’s war captives free. Even the Arabs were surprised that, a few days back they fought with each other and now they were paying for each other’s ransom!
On being asked, the Jews used to say: we are commanded in the Law to give Fidya and set free our brothers in Judaism! What they disobeyed was not to shed blood and drive each other out. They obeyed one command of freeing the war captives but disobeyed the other two. They fought and killed each other and also drove out each other.
So Allah reminds it in verse number 87 of Surah Baqarah and asks “: What is the reward of those among you who behave like this, except a disgrace IN THIS WORLD? The Arabic word here is ” Khizyun ‘It means embarrassing humiliation that exposes weakness or faults in masses.
Many of us are into this habit of picking and choosing clauses of deen as per our own convenience. Some of us are fond of Hajj and Umrah but don’t mind if the incoming money is haram. Some sisters observe excellence in worship but don’t observe Hijab. Some of us are punctual in Majid but remain indulged in gheebah. Make a list of your own and see where each one of us falters…Deen is not of picking and choosing like goods from a Mall. Rather it is a way of life that includes the way of thinking, way of behaving, way of choosing and rejecting, and also an attitude that is guided by Allah.

Muslim Girl’s Guide For Dealing With Boys
Life is full of crazy obstacles, but the one that will probably bug you the most and always be getting in the way is the opposite gender. Here, from one sister to another, is a Muslim girl’s guide for how to deal with guys.
· No Touching: Muslims are forbidden to touch any non-Mahram person of the opposite gender (Mahram is your dad, brother, father-in-law, husband, grandfather, and your parents’ siblings). That means no patting on the back, no handshaking, no pushing, no shoving, no holding hands, and obviously no kissing and all that.
· No Flirting: Not even with Muslims. Flirting means that you’re saying or doing things on purpose that make the other person attracted to you. There’s no set criterion for what flirting is, but every girl knows what it is and how to do it.
Muslim women are supposed to be better than the kind of women who share their beauty with all men around them and who think they are worthy only if half the men they know are in love with them. A wise man once said, “Don’t start the mower unless you intend to cut the grass.” If you don’t want a guy’s advances, then don’t do anything to earn them. You really only want to marry one, good guy and spend the rest of your life with him. Chances are he won’t be the same dork you fluttered your eyelashes at in high school.
· No Boyfriends: As a Muslim, you know that having a boyfriend is Haraam because it leads to Zina – an illegal sexual relationship. Allah expressly forbids romantic or sexual relationships outside of marriage. When people go against that rule, the society degenerates, people use and abuse each other, diseases spread and the sacredness of marriage as an institution is destroyed. It’s not right to date to get to know each other (that includes talking on the phone). In Islam, non-Mahram men and women aren’t allowed to be alone together.
The easiest way to ensure that you don’t end up falling in love with some guy before you’re ready to get married is to avoid making friends with boys. Of course, if you’re studying in a mixed school, you will have to interact with boys, but that doesn’t mean you should be best buds with them. Most relationships begin with friendships. Chances are you’re not ready for marriage and your parents won’t let you get married. Moreover, you’re still in school and your crush is not the sort of fellow you want to spend the rest of your life with, so just avoid being friends with him in the first place. It really is the best formula for saving yourself from needless temptation.
When you have to talk to boys in school, it’s best to maintain a distance. That means that you don’t confide in them and you don’t unnecessarily engage in needless conversations. Don’t joke around and never flirt. Yeah, it may be a little hard, but we’re talking about your hereafter here. There are plenty of great girls all around who can be your friends and if you really think only a man will understand your problem, then talk to your brother, your father, or an uncle.
· Be Disaffected: That means that nothing a boy says will hit your nerves, make you blush, or get a reaction out of you. It also means that you are uninterested in what they do as well. Imagine yourself being in an airplane looking down at the scenery below. You’re not much interested in what’s going down there, because though it looks really nice, you’ll have to jump off the plane to really check it out. Likewise, the guy may look really nice, but to get him, you have to jump off the plane, i.e., commit spiritual suicide. Though the fall may be fun, you will eventually hit the ground and go “splat” on the Day of Judgment, or even sooner maybe. It’s not worth the sin.
Remember that Allah is watching you always! Isn’t it being ungrateful to Allah’s favors? How dumb is it to take the eyes that Allah gave you and do things with them that He told you not to (like ogle at boys)? How much stupider is it that He can see you doing this, and you know it!

The Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Aallam – I Have Been Sent As A Qasim
The Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam is the Distributor(Qasim) for the Ummah and the Atta is from Allah.
Sahih Bukhari Book 25, Number 5317:
Jabir b. ‘Abdullah reported that a child was born to one of the persons amongst us and he decided to give him the name of Muhammad We said: We will not allow you to give the name after the name of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) until you ask him (the Holy Prophet). So he (that person) came and said (to the Holy Prophet): A child was born in my house and I wanted to give him the name (of Muhammad) after the name of Allah’s Messenger, whereas my people did not allow me that I should name him after that (sacred) name until I have asked Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) in this connection, whereupon he said: Give him the name after my name but do not call him by my kunya, for I have been sent as a Qasim as I distribute amongst you.
Sahih Bukhari Book 25, Number 5317:
Some people argue that here Qasim only means the distribution of Zakat and spoils of the war and it is only limited to that, but in this hadith, the Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam said that he was sent as a Qasim, which clearly signifies that purpose of this attribute “Qasim” is not just distribution of zakat and spoils of war, but Allah’s blessing are doled out to us through the Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam, He is the door from which we get Allah’s blessings, whether it be in this world or the next.
The distribution of Shafaath is also through him on the day of judgment, Allah will give Shafaath to the Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam and it is distributed to all by him
To clarify this point I am extracting the incident when Abu Bakr Siddique anhu radi Allahu taala gave his entire wealth to the Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, The Holy Prophet Muhammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam had already refused another Sahabi’s wealth when he gave everything because one must also keep wealth to take care of himself and his family and it is a Muslims fard, but he only accepted Siddique E Akbar’s sacrifice because of the level of Imaan of Siddique E Akbar, who said I have left Allah and his Rasool in my home.
I have left the source (Allah) and the means (the Holy Prophet) of the distribution of wealth in my home.
This is described by Allama Sir Syed Muhammed Iqbaal
The poem from Allama Iqbal is as follows
“To the companions, one day the Holy Prophet(Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam) appealed, O You of wealth, give in the path of righteousness,
Hearing the command Umar(radiallahu taala anhu) rose with immense desire,
for that day several thousand dirhams he did acquire
he thought to himself compared to Siddique(radiallahu taala anhu) today, my steed will surely lead the way
To the trusted Prophet(Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam) His Riches he did give
, an act of selflessness for the dependent, he took the initiative
The Master of the World (Sallallahu Alayhi wa sallam) Enquired,
O Umar (radiallahu taal anhu) For whom the passion for the truth is the solace of the heart
For your own family, what did you leave? , What is in their right, the kinsmen must receive
Umar(radiallahu taal anhu) replied, Half the riches to the women and children would suffice,
The rest assigned to the Ummah in sacrifice,
By then the friend of Apostleship arrives
From Whom Love and affection derives
With his sincere nature, he brings forth,
All that in the worlds eye has worth
The Prophet said the concern for the family you must not dismiss
Then replied the secret keeper of love and bliss
From you do the eyes of the moon and the stars get their light
It is your being that is the means for the distribution of livelihood
The Candle is sufficient for the Moth
The Flower to the nightingale,
for Siddique(radiallahu taala anhu) The Messenger of Allah is Sufficient

Prophethood In Islam
Prophethood in Islam has a special status and significance. According to Islam, Allah created man for a noble purpose: to worship Him and lead a virtuous life based on His teachings and guidance. How would man know the role and purpose of his existence unless he received clear and practical instructions of what Allah wants him to do? Here comes the need for prophethood. Thus Allah had chosen from every nation a prophet or more to convey His Message to people. One might ask: How were the prophets chosen and who were entitled to this great honor? Prophethood is Allah’s blessing and favor that He may bestow on whom He wills. However, from surveying the various messengers throughout history, three features of a prophet may be recognized:
1 . He is the best in his community morally and intellectually. This is necessary because a prophet’s life serves as a model for his followers. His personality should attract people to accept his message rather than drive them away by his imperfect character. After receiving the message he is infallible.
2. He is supported by miracles to prove that he is not an impostor. Those miracles are granted by the power and permission of God and are usually in the field in which his people excel and are recognized as superiors. We might illustrate this by quoting the major miracles of the three prophets of the major world religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Moses’ contemporaries excelled in magic. So his major miracle was to defeat the best magicians of Egypt of his days. Jesus’ contemporaries were recognized as skillful physicians. Therefore, his miracles were to raise the dead and cure incurable diseases. The Arabs, the contemporaries of the Prophet Muhammad, were known for their eloquence and magnificent poetry. So Prophet Muhammad’s major miracle was the Qur’an, the equivalent of which the whole legion of Arab poets and orators could not produce despite the repeated challenge from the Qur’an itself.
Again Muhammad’s miracle has something special about it. All previous miracles were limited by time and place, i.e., they were shown to specific people at a specific time. Not so the miracle of Muhammad, the Qur’an. It is a universal and everlasting miracle.
Previous generations witnessed it and future generations will witness its miraculous nature in terms of its style, content, and spiritual upliftment. These still can be tested and will thereby prove the divine origin of the Qur’an.
3. Every prophet states clearly that what he receives is not of his own but from God for the well-being of mankind. He also confirms what was revealed before him and what may be revealed after him.
A prophet does this to show that he is simply conveying the message which is entrusted to him by the One True God of all people of all ages. So the message is one in essence and for the same purpose.
Therefore, it should not deviate from what was revealed before him or what might come after him. Prophets are necessary for conveying God’s instructions and guidance to mankind. We have no way of knowing why we were created. What will happen to us after death? Is there any life after death? Are we accountable for our actions? In other words, is there any reward or punishment for our deeds in this life? These and so many other questions about God, angels, paradise, hell, etc. cannot be answered without revelation from the Creator and All-Knower of the unseen.
Those answers must be authentic and must be brought by individuals whom we trust and respect.
That is why messengers are the select of their societies in terms of moral conduct and intellectual ability.
