Follow The Exemplar
[ALLAH’S Quran – 33:21] You people have always had an exemplar of the Messenger of Allah who displays a good quality as well as a magnificent attribute of a great master whose conduct induces imitation by the one in whose bosom hope springs eternal of Allah’s mercy and of the bliss of the hereafter and applies remembrance to Allah often enough.
Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) Prayed for forgiveness.
[Muslim, Book #035, Hadith #6563] Abu Musa Ash’ari reported on the authority of his father that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) used to supplicate in these words:” O Allah, forgive me my faults, my ignorance, my immoderation in my concerns. And Thou art better aware (of my affairs) than myself. O Allah, grant me forgiveness (of the faults which I committed) seriously or otherwise (and which I committed inadvertently and deliberately). All these (failings) are in me. O Allah, grant me forgiveness from the fault which I did in haste or deferred, which I committed in privacy or in public, and Thou art better aware of (them) than myself. Thou art the First and the Last and over all things Thou art Omnipotent.”
[Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #319] Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying. ” By Allah! I ask for forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.”
Bed Time Sunnahs
Revive a Sunnah
Say, If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (Sall-Allahu alayhe wasallam), [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
(Noble Quran 3:31)
Bed Time Sunnahs
1- Recite the bedtime Du’as from the Masnun Du’as such as Allah-humma bismka amutu wa ahya (Oh Allah, with your name I die and live)
2- Recite the 3 Quls 3 times: One should put his hands together, then, blow into them and recite Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq, and Surah Naas then, saying that, wipes as much as he can of his body, starting with his head, his face and the front of his body. He should do this three times. [Narrated by Al-Bukhari]
3- Recite Ayat-ul-Kursi (the verse of the Throne): The fruit (reward) of reciting this ayah is that who recites it, the protection from Allah remains over him, so that no devil can approach him. [narrated by Al-Bukhari]
4- Reciting the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah Aamanar-Rasulu: This who recites them at night, they suffice him. [narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
· Scholars have different views about the meaning of (they suffice him): it has been said: they are sufficient for him, as it is equal to praying Tahajjud of that night. Also, it has been said that they protect him against every evil and adversity. Imam Nawawi said, it may mean both things.
5- Recite Tasbeeh Fatimah: Subhan Allah thirty-three times, Al-Hamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times. [Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
6- Reciting Surah Kafirun: as one of its fruits is that it is a protection from polytheism.
7- Make wudhu: One should be pure, for the hadith says if you go to bed, have an ablution.
8- Sleep on the right side then lie on your right side ). [Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
9- One should put the right hand under his cheek: when he (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) lay down, he used to put his right hand under his cheek. [Narrated by Abu-Dawoud]
Excellence Of Giving Adhan
1. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Were people to know the blessing of pronouncing Adhan and standing in the first row, they would even draw lots to secure these privileges. And were they to realize the reward of performing Salat early, they would race for it; and were they to know the merits of Salat after nightfall (`Isha’) and the dawn (Fajr) Salat, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
COMMENTARY: This expression ‘to crawl’ is used to illustrate the high merit of praying `Isha and Fajr in the congregation in the mosque. This Hadith also urges to make best to occupy the first rows, as the `Angels of Mercy’ pray for the Imam first, then for those who pray immediately behind him in the first row, then those behind them, and so on. The Hadith also points out the excellence of Adhan and the great reward of the person who pronounces it.
2. Mu`awiyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) saying:
“The Mu’adhdhinun (callers to prayer) will have the longest necks on the Day of Resurrection.”
[Muslim].
COMMENTARY: The phrase “will have the longest necks” has been given different interpretations. One of them is that they are those who long for the Mercy of Allah more than anyone else. Another interpretation is that their necks will grow longer on the Day of Requital and so sweat will not reach them, for everyone will sweat on that day depending on his deeds: sweat will reach up to one’s ankles or knees or waists. In the case of some people, sweat will reach up to their mouths. Another interpretation is that those who call Adhan will have an honorable and great status on the Day of Requital.
Allah Knows Better.
