Gift-Giving Is One Of The Good Manners
Gift-giving is one of the good manners that maintains and strengthens relations between the giver and the recipient. It is one of the acts that Prophet Muhammad recommended us -Muslims- to do. Al-Bukhaari narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: “The Messenger of Allah used to accept gifts and reward people for giving them.”
The phrase: “Reward people for giving them,” means giving the giver (at a later time) something of equal value at least in return. This Hadeeth (narration) indicates that accepting gifts and giving something of equal value (or more) to the giver is the way of the Prophet.
The Prophet enjoined responding in kind to favours, as he said in an authentic narration: “Whoever do you a favour, respond in kind, and if you cannot find the means of doing so, then keep praying for him until you think that you have responded in kind.” [Abu Daawood]
“Whoever does you a favour,” means, whoever treats you kindly in word or deed or by gifting you.
“Respond in kind,” means to treat him kindly just as he has treated you kindly.
“If you cannot find the means of doing so” means if you do not have the money.
“Until you think that you have responded in kind” means, repeatedly supplicating for him until you think that you have rewarded him his due.
One of the Du’aa’ forms that one can say is ‘Jazaaka Allaahu khayran’ (may Allaah reward you with good). At-Tirmithi narrated that Usaamah Ibn Zayd said: The Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever has a favour done for him and says ‘Jazaak Allaahu khayran’ has done his utmost to thank him.” [At-Tirmithi]
“Done his utmost to thank him,” means that he has done his utmost to express his gratitude because he has acknowledged his shortcomings and that he is unable to reward and thank him enough, so he refers the matter to Allah, to reward him in the best manner. It is said that: “If you are unable to give him back in kind, then speak at length thanking him and supplicating for him.” [Tuhfat Al-Ahwathi]
Also, The Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said: “Exchange gifts, as that will lead to increasing your love for one another.” [Al-Bukhaari]

Invoke Allah, The Exalted, For Forgiveness, With Reverence, Hope And Expectation
[Allah’s Quran – 7:56] “Nor does He like those who create discord and make mischief on earth after it has been set in order. And invoke Him with mingled feelings of dread of his just punishment and with reverence, hope, and expectation of His mercy and blessings. His mercy is indeed in the immediate proximity of those whose deeds are imprinted with wisdom and piety.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) has said:
[Bukhari, Book #75, Hadith #319] “Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying.” By Allah! I ask for forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day.”
[Muslim, Book #035, Hadith #6522] “Al-Agharr al-Muzani, who was one amongst the Companions (of the Holy Prophet) reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: There is (at times) some sort of shade upon my heart, and I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times a day.”
[Muslim, Book #035, Hadith #6563] “Abu Musa Ash’ari reported on the authority of his father that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) used to supplicate in these words:” O Allah, forgive me my faults, my ignorance, my immoderation in my concerns. And Thou art better aware (of my affairs) than myself. O Allah, grant me forgiveness (of the faults which I committed) seriously or otherwise (and which I committed inadvertently and deliberately). All these (failings) are in me. O Allah, grant me forgiveness from the fault which I did in haste or deferred, which I committed in privacy or in public, and Thou art better aware of (them) than myself. Thou art the First and the Last and over all things Thou art Omnipotent.”

The Blessings Of Last Two Verses Of Surah Al-Baqarah
The last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah are one of the most memorized and recited Quranic verses among Muslims and that is for a good reason. Consider the saying of the prophet (s.a.w.) about the last verses of the Surah.
Whoever recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah at night, will suffice him (According to Abu Masood al-Ansaari and narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4723; Muslim, 807).
The Prophet (s.a.w.) also said the following: Allah inscribed a book two thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, from which the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah were revealed. If they are recited for three nights, no Shaytan (devil) will remain in the house) (narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2882). This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami (1799).
-
The Messenger (Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. (They say), We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers and they say, We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).
-
Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned. “Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians); our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Patron, Supporter Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people. Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (185:186)

Take Not Unbelievers As Friends Allies Or Helpers
[1] “Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.” [3:28]
[2] “Those who take infidels for friends, instead of the believers. Seek they honor with them verily then honor is Allah’s altogether.” [4:139]
[3] “O you who believe, do not take the disbelievers for friends instead of the believers. Do you want to produce before Allah a clear evidence against yourselves?” [4:144]
[4] “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” [5:51]
[5] “O you who believe! do not take for guardians those who take your religion for a mockery and a joke, from among those who were given the Book before you and the unbelievers; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah if you are believers.” [5:57]
[6] “Thou seest many of them turning in friendship to the Unbelievers. Evil indeed is (the works) which their souls have sent forward before them (with the result), that Allah’s wrath is on them, and in torment will they abide.”
[5:80]
[7] “If they were indeed faithful to Allah and to the Prophet Muhammad and gave credence to the Quran sent to him, they would not have sought the infidels’ tutelage, but many of them are indeed wicked.” [5:81]
[8] “Those who disbelieve – they are friends and protectors of one another (especially against you). Unless you do it also (i.e. maintain solidarity among the believers) there will be unrest on the earth and great corruption.” [8:73]
[9] “O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.” [60:1]
[10] “O you who believe! do not make friends with people who have incurred the displeasure of Allah. They are indeed despaired of the Hereafter (since they have no faith in it), just as the disbelievers are despaired of those who are in the graves (as they do not believe that the dead will ever come to life again).” [60:13]
