Bargah Rab-e-Qadeer Mein Maqam-e-Habib (PBUH)
Hazrat Saad Bin Abi Waqqas: A Short Lifestory
His name was Abu Ishak Saad. the name of His father is Abu Waqqas Malik. The name of his mother is Amna. Hazrat Saad was one of those few who became a Muslim at the beginning of Islam. His brother was Hazrat Umair. He was martyred in the battle of Badr. His mother created a scene when she heard about the Islam of Saad. This story was in the 6th year of Nobuat. Though he converted to Islam earlier, he didn’t tell his mother until the 6th year of Nobuat. She shouted aloud and told Saad to leave Islam. His mother, however, converted to Islam later.
Hazrat Saad was a very close friend of Abu Bakr. He got the news of Islam from that great man. He turned into a Muslim to Abu Bakr’s impression. According to Saad, he was the 3rd man of Islam. He did Hijrat to Medina with all other Muslims. He was a warrior and a true Mujahid. He participated in all the battles of Islam. He was the fighter of Allah and the fighter of the ideology of Muhammad (PBUH). He fought in Badr valiantly.
Hazrat Saad also contributed to the Uhud battle. In fact, he was an instinctive warrior. He was a wise man, as well. He was one of the major weapons of Islam. In the battle of Khondok, he uprooted an eye of a kafir and Rasulullah suddenly laughed at the scene. He was on many important charges during the khelafat of Abu Bakr. He brought a lot of subjugation for Islam during the khelafat of Omar. Hazrat Saad also contributed to the khelafat of Usman. After the martyr of Usman, he didn’t participate in the works of khelafat anymore. After the martyrdom of Usman, Muslims were divided into many groups. They couldn’t uphold the instruction of the Quran and Hadith about unity. They forgot about the teaching of the Quran about brotherhood. At that time, Saad remained neutral. He didn’t take any side. Hazrat Saad was very much worried about the situation of Muslims. He followed the belief that hurting a Muslim is always forbidden.
He was always busy with the thought of a Muslim world, and he always thought of the way to Allah and His Rasul. He was always busy doing welfare for Islam and Muslims. He was one of those ten men who were given the good news of Jannat. Hazrat Saad was the worrier who never left. He always kept himself busy in the works of Islam. He was a true worrier of Rasulullah. He should be an origin of inspiration for us. May Allah dignify him hereafter as he dignified him in the earth.

Excellence Of The Day Of Arafah
Jabir reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah are the best days in the sight of Allah.”
A man asked, “Are these days better than an equivalent number of days that are spent fighting for the cause of Allah?”
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)answered, “They are better than an equivalent number of days spent fighting in the cause of Allah. And there is no day better in the sight of Allah than the Day of `Arafah. On this day Allah, the Almighty, and the Exalted One descend to the nearest heaven, and He is proud of His slaves on the earth and says to those in heaven, ‘Look at My servants. They have come from far and near, with hair disheveled and faces covered with dust, to seek My mercy, even though they have not seen My chastisement. Far more people are freed from the Hellfire on the Day of Arafah than on any other day. ‘”
Ibn Al-Mubarak reported from Sufyan Ath-Thawri, from Az-Zubayr ibn`Ali, from Anas ibn Malik that he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) spent the day at Arafah until almost sunset. Then he said, “O Bilal, ask the people to be quiet and listen to me.” Bilal stood up and asked the people to be quiet and listen to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the people were quiet, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O people, a little while ago Gabriel (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me. Gave me salutations from Allah and informed me that Allah has forgiven those who spend the Day at Arafah and those who stop at Al-Mash’ar Al-Haram and that He has guaranteed their debts.”
At this Umar ibn Al-Khattab stood up and asked, “O Allah’sMessenger, is this for us only?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “This is for you and for all those who will come after you until the Day of Judgment.” Umar exclaimed, “How plentiful and blissful Allah’s bounties are!”
Muslim and others have reported from A’ishah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Allah frees far more people from Hellfire on the Day of `Arafah than on any other day, and Allah comes closer this day and proudly says to the angels, What do these people want and seek?'”
Abu Ad-Darda reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On no other day does Satan feel so belittled, humiliated, and angry as he does on the Day of Arafah.” The reason for this is the mercy of Allah that descends (this day) and the forgiveness that He grants to people for major sins, except the day of the Battle of Badr, which witnessed a far greater mercy of Allah descending upon people, which caused great sadness to Satan.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, “O Prophet of Allah, what did Satan see on the day of the Battle of Badr?” “He saw Gabriel leading the troops of angels,” he replied (Reported by Malik and Al-Hakim).

Benefits And Secrets Of Surah Al Kahf
Ever wondered why Prophet Muhammad(SAW) asked us to recite Surat Al-Kahf every Friday?
Let’s find out today inshaAllah…
This Surah has Four stories in it, having some morals, let’s see them and understand what they are saying to us:
1) The People Of The Cave
It’s the story of young men who lived in a disbelieving town, so they decided to migrate for the sake of Allah and run away. -Allah rewarded them with mercy in the cave and protection from the sun – They woke up and found the entire village believers.
MORAL: TRIAL OF FAITH.
2) The Owner Of Two Gardens
A story of a man whom Allah blessed with two beautiful gardens, but the man forgot to thank the One who blessed him with everything and he even dared to doubt Allah regarding the afterlife. So His garden was destroyed – He regretted, but was too late and his regret did not benefit him.
MORAL: TRIAL OF WEALTH.
3) Musa(AS) and Khidr(AS)
When Musa(AS) was asked “Who’s the most knowledgeable of the people of earth?”” Musa(AS) said: Me…, but Allah revealed to him that there’s someone who Knows more than him. Musa(AS) traveled to the man and learned how Divine Wisdom can sometimes be hidden in matters that we perceive as bad.
MORAL: TRIAL OF KNOWLEDGE.
4) Dhul-Qarnayn
It’s a story of the great King who was given knowledge and power and was going around the world, helping people and spreading all that’s good. He was able to overcome the problem of Yajooj-Majooj and build a massive dam with the help of people whom he could not even understand.
MORAL: TRIAL OF POWER
In the middle Allah mentions Iblees as the one who stirs these trials:
Behold! We said to the angels “Bow down to Adam”: they bowed down except Iblis. He was one of the Jinns, and he broke the Command of his Lord. Will ye then take him and his progeny as protectors rather than Me? And they are enemies to you! Evil would be the exchange for the wrongdoers!
Now let us see what’s the relationship between Surat Al-Kahf and the Dajjal (Anti-Christ).
Dajjal will appear before the Day of Judgement with the 4 trials:
***He’ll ask people to worship him and not Allah:
Trial of Faith.
***He’ll be given powers to start/stop rain and tempt people with his wealth:
Trial of with his wealth.
***He’ll trial people with the “knowledge” and news he gives them:
Trial of Knowledge.
He’ll control huge parts of the Earth.
Trial of Power.
How to survive these trials? The answers are in Surat Al-Kahf
Survival Kit 1: Good companionship
“And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; no obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.” (Surat Al-Kahf, verse 28)
Survival Kit 2: Knowing the Truth of this World
“Set forth to them the similitude of the life of this world: It is like the rain which we send down from the skies: the earth’s vegetation absorbs it, but soon it becomes dry stubble, which the winds do scatter: it is (only) Allah who prevails over all things” (Surat Al-Kahf, verse 45)
Survival Kit 3: Humbleness
“Moses said: “Thou wilt find me, if Allah so will, (truly) patient: nor shall I disobey thee in aught.” (Surat Al-Kahf, verse 69)
Survival Kit 4: Sincerity.
“Say: “I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your Allah is one Allah. whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.” (Surat Al- Kahf, verse 110)
Survival Kit 5: Calling to Allah
“And recite (and teach) what has been revealed to thee of the Book of thy Lord: none can change His Words, and none wilt thou find as a refuge other than Him.” (Surat Al-Kahf, verse 27)
Survival Kit 6: Remembering the Hereafter
“ One Day We shall remove the mountains, and thou wilt see the earth as a level stretch, and We shall gather them, all together, nor shall We leave out any one of them. And they will be marshaled before thy Lord in ranks, (with the announcement), “Now have ye come to Us (bare) as We created you first: aye, ye thought We shall not fulfil the appointment made to you to meet (Us)!”: And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say, “Ah! woe to us! what a Book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great, but takes account thereof !” They will find all that they did, placed before them: And not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.” (Surat Al-Kahf, verses 47-49)

The Art Of Dua
Dua is an Arabic term for supplication. A core form of worship to Allah the Almighty – One who created me and you. We supplicate our needs and gratitude to Him for Allah, the Most High is our sole provider. He created everything inside us, around us, and everywhere. He sees. He listens. He hears. He understands. Allah, the Most High, says in the Quran:
“When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me.” [2:186]
Our Beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him said: “Nothing is more honorable to Allah the Most High than dua.” [Sahih al-Jami` no.5268]
“The most excellent worship is dua.” [Sahih Al-Jami` no. 1133].
Dua is so powerful that when we make dua, it can change our fate as Allah, the Most High, grants what He believes is best for us as He knows the Unseen. He answers each person in need and every request. The manner in which we make dua should be done with utmost respect and sincerity. We should never give up dua nor lose hope in Allah’s blessings and mercy. For Allah is the Most Generous so never put in mind that He will not grant your request.
Our Beloved Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said: “Verily your Lord is the One modest and Generous, and when His servant raises his hands to Him in supplication, He is diffident (in some wordings, shy or hesitant) from returning them empty.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi – Hasan]
Making dua is recognition of our weakness and His power and greatness.
“O mankind! It is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of All Praise.” [Quran 35:15]
Our Beloved Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said: “Ask Allah for everything, even the lace of your shoes. If Allah does not provide, it will never be available.” [Ibn al-Sunni, no. 349 – Hasan. Supported by at-Tirmidhi 4/298 and others.]

Living The Quran: Words And Deeds
Fatir (The Originator) – Chapter 35: Verse 10 “Whosoever desires might – to God belongs might altogether. Unto Him ascends the good word, and He uplifts the righteous deed. As for those who plot evil deeds, theirs shall be a severe punishment, and their plotting shall come to ruin.”
Whosoever desires might mean whoever desires honor, power, and glory in this world and the next. To God belongs might remind one to be obedient toward God, as all such qualities come from God; it is thus understood as a command not to seek such might from idols, other gods, or disbelievers. It is also understood to mean that any who seek true honor, power, and glory and are sincere in their desire so that they seek with humility and poverty before God, will find these qualities with God and they will be unveiled to them.
The good word may refer to the remembrance and invocation of God, the recitation of the Quran, and supplicatory prayer or to the declaration of God’s Oneness. This sentence can be understood to mean that all good words and righteous deeds ascend to God and that one is thus rewarded for them, or that God uplifts the righteous deed over the good word because the deed constitutes the verification of the word since it is putting faith into action. The subtle phrasing of this verse also allows for it to be read, “Unto Him ascends the good word and the righteous deed uplifts it,” meaning the deed uplifts the word, as in a saying attributed to Ibn Abbas: “The good word is the remembrance of God, which is taken up to God, and the righteous deed is the performance of obligatory duties. Whosoever remembers God while performing an obligatory duty, his deed carries his remembrance of God and takes it up to God. Whosoever remembers God and does not perform the obligatory duties, his words will be rejected, as will his deed”.
But it must also be recognized that the good word is a good deed in and of itself. The phrase could also be understood to mean, “Unto Him ascends the good word, and as for the righteous deed, it uplifts it”, meaning that the good word uplifts the righteous deed in the sense that no good deed is accepted by God unless there is a sincere declaration of faith that precedes or accompanies it. He uplifts it is thus understood to mean that God makes it reach Him due to the presence of sincerity toward God within it.
Those who plot evil deeds are understood as a reference to people of duplicity and hypocrisy who perform “righteous deeds” only to deceive others into thinking that they obey God and whose deeds do not ascend. Their plotting shall come to ruin because God knows that they perform such deeds only to be seen by others and not because of their belief in God.
