Blessed Is The Wealth Of A Muslim From Which He Gives To The Poor
[ALLAH’S Quran – 2:215] “They ask you as to what they should spend. Say: Whatever wealth you spend, it is for the parents and the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, and whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it.
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:
[Bukhari, Book #24, Hadith #544] “Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Once the Prophet sat on a pulpit and we sat around him. Then he said, “The things I am afraid of most for your sake (concerning what will befall you after me) are the pleasures and splendors of the world and its beauties which will be disclosed to you.” Somebody said, “O Allah’s Apostle! Can the good bring forth evil?” The Prophet remained silent for a while. It was said to that person, “What is wrong with you? You are talking to the Prophet (p.b.u.h) while he is not talking to you.” Then we noticed that he was being inspired divinely. Then the Prophet wiped off his sweat and said, “Where is the questioner?” It seemed as if the Prophet liked his question. Then he said, “Good never brings forth evil. Indeed it is like what grows on the banks of a water stream which either kill or make the animals sick, except if an animal eats its fill the Khadira (a kind of vegetable) and then faces the sun, and then defecates and urinates and grazes again. No doubt this wealth is sweet and green. blessed is the wealth of a Muslim from which he gives to the poor, orphans, and to needy travelers. (Or the Prophet said something similar to it) No doubt, whoever takes it illegally will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied, and his wealth will be a witness against him on the Day of Resurrection.”
Benefits Of As-Salaam Alaikum
1.”As-Salaamu Alaikum” is a means of immense reward
A man passed by the Messenger of Allaah (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) while he was sitting with others, and said “As-salaamu ‘alaykum.”
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, “[He will have] ten hasanaat.”
Another man passed by and said “As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah).”
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, “[He will have] twenty hasanaat.”
Another man passed by and said “As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allaah and His blessings).”
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said, “[He will have] thirty hasanaat.”
2.”As-Salaamu Alaikum” is an aspect of Imaan
Once a man asked the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) about which aspect of Islam was best. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) replied: “Feeding the hungry, and saying salaam to those you know and those you don’t know.” (Bukhaari and Muslim)
3. “As-Salaamu Alaikum” is a means of entering Jannah
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you about something which, if you do it, you will love one another? Spread salaam (the greeting of peace) among you.” (Muslim)
4. “As-Salaamu Alaikum” gets rid of sins
The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaihi wa Sallam) also said, “When two Muslims meet (give salaam), and shake hands, they are forgiven their sins before they part (with each other).” (Abu Dawud)
5. “As-Salaamu Alaikum” is the greeting of the people of Jannah
“Then, those that feared their Lord shall be driven in companies into Paradise. When they draw near its gates will be opened, and its keepers will say to them: “Salaamun ‘Alaikum” (Peace be upon you), you have done well. Enter and live in it forever.” (Surah Zumar:73)
Never Forget To Pray To ALLAH
[Quran – 2:45] “And seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones,”
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:
[Bukhari, Book #21, Hadith #263] “O Allah! I ask guidance from Your Knowledge, And Power from Your Might and I ask for Your great blessings. You are capable and I am not. You Know and I do not and You Know the unseen. O Allah! If You Know that This job is good for my religion and my subsistence and in my Hereafter–(or said: If it is better for my present and later needs)–Then You ordain it for me and make it easy for me to get, And then bless me in it, and if You Know that This job is harmful tome In my religion and subsistence and in the Hereafter–(or said: If it is worse for my present and later needs)–Then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. And ordain for me whatever is good for me, And make me satisfied with it). The Prophet added that then the person should name (mention) his need.”
No Injustice From Allah
[ALLAH’S Quran – 4:40 ] “Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom’s weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward.”
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:
[Bukhari, Book #2, Hadith #40] “Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “If any one of you improve (follows strictly) his Islamic religion then his good deeds will be rewarded ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and a bad deed will be recorded as it is.”
[Bukhari, Book #93, Hadith #592] “Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Allah says, “If My slave intends to do a bad deed then (O Angels) do not write it unless he does it; if he does it, then write it as it is, but if he refrains from doing it for My Sake, then write it as a good deed (in his account). (On the other hand) if he intends to do a good deed but does not do it, then write a good deed (in his account), and if he does it, then write it for him (in his account) as ten good deeds up to seven-hundred times.”
[Muslim, Book #001, Hadith #0234] “It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed: Allah, the Great and Glorious, said: Whenever my bondsman intends to do good but does not do it, I write one good act for him, but if he puts it into practice I wrote from ten to seven hundred good deeds in favor of him. When he intends to commit an evil but does not actually do it, do not record it. But if he does it, I write only one evil.”
[Muslim, Book #041, Hadith #7039] “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said: Hasten to do good deeds before six things happen: the rising of the sun from the west, the smoke, the Dajjal, the beast and (the death) of one of you or the general turmoil.”
[Abudawud, Book #41, Hadith #5059] “Narrated Abu Ayyash: The Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) said: If anyone says in the morning: “There is no god but Allah alone Who has no partner; to Him belong the dominions, to Him praise is due, and He is Omnipotent,” he will have a reward equivalent to that for setting free a slave from among the descendants of Isma’il. He will have ten good deeds recorded for him, ten evil deeds deducted from him, he will be advanced ten degrees, and will be guarded against the Devil till the evening. If he says them in the evening, he will have a similar recompense till the morning. The version of Hammad says: A man saw the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) in a dream and said: Apostle of Allah! Abu Ayyash is relating such and such on your authority. He said: Abu Ayyash has spoken the truth.”

Virtues Of Salaah
1. Abu Hurayra Radiyallahu ‘anhu said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, ‘What do you think would happen if there was a river by someone’s door in which he washed five times every day? Do you think that any dirt would remain on him?’ They said, ‘Not a scrap of dirt would remain on him.’ He said, ‘That is a metaphor of the five prayers by which Allah wipes out wrong actions.'”
2. Jabir ibne-’Abdullah Radiyallahu ‘anhuma narrates that Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said: ‘The key to Paradise is Salat and the key to Salat is Wuzu’. (Musnad Ahmad)
3. Anas Radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said: ‘The comfort and delight of my eyes has been placed in Salat.’ (Nasai).
4. Hanzalah Al Usaidi Radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said: ‘The person who guards the five times Salat, its Wuzu, its prescribed time, its proper Ruku’ and Sujud, while perceiving it to be the Right of Allah on him, he is forbidden upon Fire.’ (Musnad Ahmad)
5. Abu Qatadah ibne-Rib’i Radiyallahu ‘anhu reported that Rasulullah Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam narrates in a Hadith Qudsi that Allah ‘Azza wa Jall has said:’ Verily, I have enjoined upon your Ummah five times Salat, and I have taken upon myself an oath that anyone who observes them at their appointed time, I shall admit him into Paradise; if anyone does not offer them regularly, there is no such guarantee from Me for him (I may punish him or forgive him).'(Abu Dawud)
Establish Prayer, Pay Alms And Obey The Messenger
[ALLAH’S Quran – 24:56] Establish the Prayer in conformity with its conditions and pay the Prescribed Purifying Alms, and obey the Messenger so that you may be shown mercy (to be granted a good, virtuous life in the world and eternal happiness in the Hereafter.)
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:
[Muslim, Book #002, Hadith #0432] “Abu Malik at-Ash’ari reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Cleanliness is half of faith and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fills the scale, and Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) and al-Hamdu Liliah (Praise be to Allah) fill up what is between the heavens and the earth, and prayer is a light, and charity is proof (of one’s faith) and endurance is a brightness and the Holy Qur’an is a proof on your behalf or against you. All men go out early in the morning and sell themselves, thereby setting themselves free or destroying themselves.”
[Bukhari, Book #2, Hadith #7] “Narrated Ibn ‘Umar: Allah’s Apostle said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):
1. To testify that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle.
2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.
3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity).
4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)
5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.”
Obey Allah And Obey His Messenger
[Quran – 4:59] “O you who believe! obey Allah and obey (His) Messenger and those who are in authority among you (to decide your affairs). And should you differ among yourselves in anything, refer it to Allah and His Messenger (and judge according to their teachings), if indeed you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is (in your) best (interests) and most commendable in the long run.”
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:
[Malik’s Muwatta, Book #46, Hadith #46.1.3] “Yahya related to me from Malik that he heard that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “I have left two matters with you. As long as you hold to them, you will not go the wrong way. They are the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet.”
[Commentary – 4:59] “(Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, and those of you who are in authority.) “Was revealed about `Abdullah bin Hudhafah bin Qays bin `Adi, who the Messenger of Allah sent on a military expedition.” This statement was collected by the Group, with the exception of Ibn Majah At-Tirmidhi said, “Hasan, Gharib”. Imam Ahmad recorded that `Ali said, “The Messenger of Allah sent a troop under the command of a man from Al-Ansar. When they left, he became angry with them for some reason and said to them, ‘Has not the Messenger of Allah commanded you to obey me’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Collect some wood,’ and then he started a fire with the wood, saying, ‘I command you to enter the fire.’ The people almost entered the fire, but a young man among them said, ‘You only ran away from the Fire to Allah’s Messenger. Therefore, do not rush until you go back to Allah’s Messenger, and if he commands you to enter it, then enter it.’ When they went back to Allah’s Messenger, they told him what had happened, and the Messenger said, (Had you entered it, you would never have departed from it. Obedience is only in righteousness.)” This Hadith is recorded in the Two Sahihs.”

How Scores Will Be Settled On The Day Of Resurrection
When the Day of Resurrection comes, a man’s wealth and capital will be his hasanaat (good deeds). If he had done wrong to any people, they will take from his hasanaat to the extent that he mistreated them. If he does not have any hasanaat, or if his hasanaat run out, then some of their sayi’aat (bad deeds) will be taken and added to his burden.
Bukhari narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Whoever wronged his brother with regard to his honor or any other matter, should seek his forgiveness today, before there are no longer any dinars or dirhams; and if he has any righteous deeds, they will be taken from him, in accordance with the wrong he did; and if he has no hasanaat, some of the sayi’aat of his counterpart will be taken and added to his burden.” [Bukhari: Kitaab al-Mazaalim, Baab man kaanat lahu mazlamah `inda rajul, Fath al-Baari, 5/101]
This person whose hasanaat are taken from him by the people, and then has their sayi’aat placed on his own back, is the one who is bankrupt, as the Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) called him.
Punishments For Not Paying Zakah
Narrated Abu Huraira (radi’Allahu anhu) : Allah’s Apostle (sall’Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “Anyone whom Allah has given wealth but he does not pay its zakat, then, on the Day of Resurrection, his wealth will be presented to him in the shape of a bald-headed poisonous male snake with two poisonous glands in its mouth and with two black spots over the eyes. it will encircle itself around his neck and bite him over his cheeks and say, “I am your wealth; I am your treasure.”
Then the Prophet (sall’Allahu alaihi wa sallam) recited this Divine Verse:–
“And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty.”
(3.180)
{Sahih Bukhari}
(Book #60, Hadith #88) (Book #24, Hadith #486)
Narrated Abu Dhar (radi’Allahu anhu) : Once I went to him (the Prophet ) and he (sall’Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “By Allah in Whose Hands my life is (or probably said, ‘By Allah, except Whom none has the right to be worshipped) whoever had camels or cows or sheep and did not pay their zakat, those animals will be brought on the Day of Resurrection far bigger and fatter than before and they will tread him under their hooves and will butt him with their horns, and (those animals will come in a circle): When the last does its turn, the first will start again,
and this punishment will go on till Allah has finished the judgments amongst the people.”
{Sahih Bukhari}
(Book #24, Hadith #539)
Abu Huraira (radi’Allahu anhu) reported
Allah’s Messenger (sall’Allahu alaihi wa sallam) as saying: “If any owner of gold or silver does not pay what is due on him when the Day of Resurrection would come, plates of fire would be beaten out for him; these would then be heated in the fire of Hell and his sides, his forehead, and his back would be cauterized with them. Whenever these cool down, (the process is) repeated during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among servants, and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell.
It was said: Messenger of Allah, what about the camel? He (sall’Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: If any owner of the camel does not pay what is due on him, and of his due in that (camel) is (also) to milk it on the day when it comes down to the water. When the Day of Resurrection comes
a soft sandy plain will be set for him, as extensive as possible, (he will find) that not a single young one is missing, and they will trample him with their hoofs and bite him with their mouths. As often as the first of them passes him, the last of them would be made to return during a day
the extent of which would be fifty thousand years, until judgment is pronounced among servants and he sees whether his path is to take him to Paradise or to Hell. It was (again) said:
Messenger of Allah, what about cows (cattle) and sheep? He (sall’Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: If any owner of the cattle and sheep does not pay
what is due on them, when the Day of Resurrection comes a soft sandy plain would be spread for them, he will find none of them missing, with twisted horns, without horns or with a broken horn, and they will gore him with their horns and trample him with their hoofs. As often as the first of them passes him the last of them would be made to return to him during a day the extent of which would be fifty thousand years until judgment would be pronounced among the servants. And he would be shown his path leading him to Paradise or to Hell…”
Sahih Muslim (Book #005, Hadith #2161)
