Women Of Paradise: The Black Woman

We often hear speakers in Friday prayer or in admonitions talking about Paradise and all of us find our hearts, minds and thoughts tuned on to that ‘frequency’. However, the majority of the speakers talk about Paradise as if it were a house for men only. Reality is not like that.

Paradise is for the believing men and women.

The only price for it is sound belief in Allah, love of Alaah and His Messenger salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam, and obedience to Allah and His Messenger salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam.

In what follows are the glad tidings given by the Messenger of Allah salla Allaahu alaihi wa sallam, to some of the women among his companions.

Which Women Will Enter Jannah?

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Shall I inform you which woman will enter Paradise?” The Sahaba replied: “Yes, most certainly.” Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “The woman who has children, is lovable, when she becomes angry the husband consoles and comforts her, and when the husband becomes angry she says that as long as you do not become pleased with me, I will not even apply surmah (antimony) to my eyes.” [Tibrani]

The love between husband and wife offends Shaitan more than anything else. If husbands and wives are to care for each other and strive to maintain a peaceful and loving environment in the house, every Muslim household can become a model of Jannah. All kinds of quarrels and arguments will cease, and the misfortune of divorce will not prevail. Children brought up in such environments will be an example of piety, discipline, love, and sympathy. May Allah make every Muslim house a model of Jannah.

If the hearts of both spouses are united, there can be no greater bounty, and if there are differences between them (Allah forbid), there can be no greater calamity.

The Superiority of the Women of Paradise over the Hoor al Ayn
Umm Salamah (radi Allahu anha) narrates that she said to Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): “O Rasul Allah, are the women of this world superior or the hoors (of Paradise)?”

He (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) replied, “The (mominah) women of this world will have superiority over the hoors just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the inner lining.”

Umm Salamah (radi Allahu anha) then asked, “O Rasul Allah, what is the reason for this?”

He answered, “Because they performed salah, fasted, and worshiped [Allah]. Allah will put light on their faces and silk on their bodies. [The human mominah] will be fair in complexion and will wear green clothing and yellow jewelry. Their incense-burners will be made of pearls, and their combs will be of gold. They will say, ‘We are the women who will stay forever, and we will never die. We are the women who will always remain in comfort, and we will never undergo difficulty. We are the women who will stay, and we will never leave. Listen, we are happy women and we will never become sad. Glad tidings to those men for whom we are and who are for us.'” [Tabrani]

As beautiful as the hoors of Jannah are, sincere & practicing Muslim women of this world will be far superior to them in Jannah. To imagine how wonderful those women will be who make it to Jannah, we only need to see how hoors have been described and then realize that they are of poor quality when compared to the fineness of the righteous women who Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) puts in Jannah.

From the Quran and hadith literature, we learn that “a hoor is a most beautiful young woman with a transparent body. The marrow of her bones is visible, like the interior lines of pearls and rubies. She looks like red wine in a white glass.” [Tirmidhi]

A hoor has big, beautiful eyes with black irises and intense white scleras. She is a woman characterized by modesty and flexing glances; she never looks at any man except her husband. She feels grateful for being his wife and is always reconciled with him. A hoor is young, immortal, and does not age. She is free of animosity and speaks softly. “She is of white color and free from routine physical disabilities such as menstruation, menopause, urinal and offal discharge, childbearing and the related pollution.” [Tirmidhi]

Having been brought up in luxury, she is a luxury herself. “If a hoor looked down from her abode in Heaven onto earth, the whole distance between Heaven and earth would fill with light and fragrance. Her face is more radiant than a mirror, and one can see one’s image in her cheek.” [Mishkat]

When a man turns his face away from her, she becomes 70 times more beautiful. If she were to spit in the salty water of the seven oceans, then the oceans would turn sweeter than honey.

However, sincere & practicing Muslim women will not feel jealous of the hoors as they will be far superior to the hoors in every way. Righteous women who enter Paradise, regardless of the age they died or how they looked on earth, will be made much more beautiful than the hoors of Jannah. A hoor is one of the delights of Paradise. She has only been created in Paradise for the sake of someone else. Believing women will be themselves deserving of great rewards and will be given these rewards in Jannah. This hadith tells us that the reason for the superiority of Muslim women over hoors is the acts of worship and obedience that they performed in this world.

Role Model For Modesty ( Fatima bint Muhammad)

One day in the early days of Islam, the Prophet (SAWS) was praying in front of the Ka’aba. Abu Jahal, ‘Ukbah bin Abi Mu’eet, and Shayba, the enemies of the Prophet (SAWS) were sitting around and they said to each other, Abu Jahal made the suggestion and he said, “Who would take the guts of a camel and all of the filth and dump it on his back while he is praying to humiliate him?” Abu Jahal is someone who stepped on the neck of the Prophet (SAWS) while he was praying, he’s someone who used to throw dirt at the Prophet (SAWS) while he was praying but he wanted to degrade him even further. And ‘Ukban volunteered himself and he went and grabbed all of the filth of a camel, all of its guts and all of its najaasa (excretions) and he went and he dumped it on the back of the Prophet (SAWS) while he was in sujood/prostration. That weight down the back of the Prophet (SAWS) heavily. Imagine this young girl, not even a teenager yet, Fatimah radiyaAllahu ta’ala ‘anha, the daughter of the Prophet (SAWS) seeing her father in this state, seeing the people laugh at him and mock him and curse him. And she comes and she starts to scrape all of that filth off of the back of her father. Imagine the humiliation and the hurt and the pain and she sees that. She starts to cry Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha and the Prophet (SAWS) says “لا تبكي إن الله ناصرٌ أباك” [laa tabki inn Allah naasirun ‘abaaki]- Do not cry oh my daughter, Allah (SWT) will help and give victory to your father. And it is at that time that the Prophet (SAWS) raised his hands to the skies and made du’aa saying,
“اللهم عليك بأبي جهل، اللهم عليك بعقبة، اللهم عليك بشيبة”.
And those 3 men that the Prophet (SAWS) made du’aa against were the first 3 people to go down in Badr.

Now the moral of this story more than anything else is the young girl. Don’t you think that would traumatize her and make her an individual who would not have the same love for her father’s cause but would rather blame it? Absolutely not! And we look at this young girl Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha, the 5th child of the Prophet (SAWS). The Prophet (SAWS) had other daughters and you might wonder, why Fatima? Why is she the one that perfected her faith? What about her older sisters? And there are a couple of reasons that the scholars mention. One of them is that she spent the most time with her mother Khadija Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha, another woman who had perfected her faith. And so she adopted her morals and her characters more than anything else. Another reason is that she was with the Prophet (SAWS) at times when no one else was with him. When Khadija Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha passed away, it was only the Prophet (SAWS) and Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha alone in that household. Subhan Allah, you can imagine what role she had to play. She was only 5 years old when Rasool Allah received revelation. She was born and grew up in Islam unlike any of the other children. She grew up in Islam. But Subhan Allah she was with the Prophet (SAWS) when no one else was with him. And you can imagine those moments. Imagine the times the Prophet (SAWS) would come home when he was feeling devastated after losing Khadija and AbuTalib and having no one else she was the one that would cook for him, she was the one that would come to his aid, she was the one that started to comfort him and took her mother’s place Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha. And in fact, they used to call Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha ‘أم أبيها’ [umm abeeha]- the mother of her father. Subhan Allah. She cared for the Prophet (SAWS) that much.

She also adopted so much from the Prophet (SAWS) in terms of her character. One of her nicknames being ‘الزهراء’ [al-Zahraa’] – the splendid one was because of her radiant face, she had that beautiful radiant face and she was the daughter of the Prophet (SAWS) whose face was as bright as the full moon. And we find that ‘Aisha Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha says something very special about her. ‘Aisha says, “I have never seen anyone who resembled the Prophet (SAWS) from Allah’s creation more in speech and character and conversation than Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha.” And listen to what ‘Aisha says, she says that any time Fatima entered a room where the Prophet (SAWS) was she said the Prophet (SAWS) would get up. He would greet her, he would kiss her, he would hold her hand and then he would take Fatima and sit her down in the same place that he was sitting, ‘alayhi al salat wassalam, Honoring her and holding her in that high esteem. And you might think to yourself, Subhan Allah this woman is that daughter of Khadija Radi Allahu anha but the Prophet (SAWS) said that Fatima is ‘سيدة نساء الجنة’ [sayyidat nisaa’ al-jannah]- she is the queen, the leader of the women of Paradise. Not only has she perfected her faith but she is the leader of the women of Paradise. And the Prophet (SAWS) treated her like royalty. But royalty in a different sense. You know we think of royalty nowadays that he got her married to a really rich man and probably gave her a palace and spoiled her rotten and gave her gifts all the time. The Prophet (SAWS) rejected many proposals from great sahaba who had wealth and were very well off in dunya and aakhirah but the Prophet (SAWS) chose ‘Ali radiya Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu, the one who the Prophet (SAWS) called his brother after Hijra. And Rasool Allah (SAWS) used to always call ‘Ali his brother after hijra to the point that Umm Ayman Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha she said, “How come you call him your brother? Who is your brother?” He said, “This is the one who I made my brother. We were paired after hijra.”

The Prophet (SAWS) chose ‘Ali for Fatima. And the Prophet (SAWS) whenever ‘Ali Radi Allahu ‘anhu came to propose to Fatima, the Prophet (SAWS) sat infront of ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu and ‘Ali was nervous. So the Prophet (SAWS) offered it to ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu and said, “Maybe you came so that you could get engaged to Fatima?” ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu said “Yes”. So the Prophet (SAWS) said, “Well what do you have as a dowry? What do you have as a mahr?” He had nothing. All he had was a shield and that’s the only thing he owned. And the Prophet (SAWS) said, “Well why don’t you sell that shield and use that as mahr?” And that is the only thing she had as her dowry. ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu sold his shield to ‘Uthman Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu and that was the only thing that would be used for dowry.

Subhan Allah think about how much the Prophet (SAWS) loved her but even with that, the Prophet (SAWS) was so involved with the life of Fatima and ‘Ali that sometimes Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha thought that maybe the Prophet (SAWS) loved ‘Ali more than her because the Prophet (SAWS) was always caring for that household. He would come and wake them up for qiyam-ul-layl. Subhan Allah he was always involved with that household, always taking care of them and checking up on them. So Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha wondered one time that maybe the Prophet (SAWS) loves my husband more than me. And the Prophet (SAWS) who has ‘خلقٍ عظيم’ [khuluqin ‘atheem]- the most perfected exalted character says to ‘Ali and Fatima when they’re together, he points to ‘Ali and says, ‘فاطمة أحب إلي منك’ [Fatima ‘ahabbu illayya mink]- Fatima is more beloved to me. And then he looks to Fatima and says, ‘وعلي أعز إلي منك’ [‘Ali a’azzu illayya minki]- and ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu has more honor with me than you. Subhan Allah satisfying and pleasing both parties.

The Prophet (SAWS) while he was checking up on them, for example, one time he saw Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha and think about this: the only thing that they owned in their household was a sheepskin to sleep on. That was all they had in their possession and the Prophet (SAWS) he sees this situation and he comes home one day Fatima said to the Prophet (SAWS) that ‘Ali is upset that they had some kind of difference like any other married couple and ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu went to sleep in the masjid. The Prophet (SAWS) goes to the masjid and he sees ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu laying down he wakes ‘Ali up and starts to dust off ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu and says, ‘قم يا أبا تراب’ [qum ya abaa turaab] -stand up oh father of dust. And ‘Ali said that was the most beloved nickname to me after that. Rasool Allah (SAWS) was diffusing the situation. He always wanted them to be happy and together and was checking up on his daughter.

Again, this is the Queen of the Women of Jannah, right? So what would her status be like in dunya? ‘Ali Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anhu sees Fatima Radi Allahu ‘anha one day and her hands are covered in blisters because of how much she has to work because of all the hardship that she goes through in this life. This is the Queen of the women of jannah. And he says to Fatima Radi Allahu ‘anha, and this was after a Battle, he says, “Why don’t you go to the Prophet (SAWS) and ask him for a servant?” Ask the Prophet (SAWS) for a servant. And the Prophet (SAWS) did not want that for her. The Prophet (SAWS) comes to their home and sits ‘Ali and Fatima on the bed and Rasool Allah (SAWS) sits between them and he says, “Shall I give you something even better than that?” He says, “Say Subhan Allah 33 times, Aalhamdulellah 33 times, and Allahu Akbar 34 times before you sleep.” This is the Prophet (SAWS) caring for his daughter. This is what he considered providing for his daughter.

Now the Prophet (SAWS) of course took care of them but you have to understand that this did not make Fatima Radi Allahu ‘anha a bitter woman. She didn’t think to herself “I’m entitled I should be living a really good life”, because she saw the way that her father was suffering and she suffered with him and she was like him (SAWS). And Subhan Allah we find that when the Prophet (SAWS) was dying, Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha, she saw the Prophet (SAWS) in his battered state and his clothes and his illness and she started to cry. And Rasulullah (SAWS) calls her over compassionately, and the Prophet (SAWS) says come let me tell you something. And Rasulullah (SAWS) whispers something to her and she starts to cry further. And then Rasulullah (SAWS) says come back down let me tell you something else. And he whispers to her again and she starts to laugh and the people were amazed. ‘Aishah Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha demanded she said, “Tell me what it was that the Prophet (SAWS) told you!” At first, she refused, but eventually, she gave in and said ‘Aisha Radi Allahu ‘anha. She said, “My father told me the first time (SAWS) that he would not survive this illness. And then he called me back and told me you will be the first one to join me.” She laughed at death. The Prophet (SAWS) was telling her you’re going to be the first one to die from my companions and Subhan Allah 4-6 months afterward Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha became ill and she was ill from the time of the death of the Prophet (SAWS) out of her pain from her father dying. And this is a mother of young children. This is a mother who is married to a wonderful husband but Subhan Allah she just wants to be with her father (SAWS) in jannat-ul-firdaous.

She goes one day and she lies down and she smiles looking to the heavens and she calls for Asmaa bint Abi ‘Umays, the wife of Abu Bakr Al-Siddeeq may Allah (SWT) be pleased with them both. And Asmaa was going to be the one that was going to wash the body of Fatima . And look at how this royal woman speaks, she says to Asmaa “Whenever you do my ghusl (wash my body after I pass) and whenever you do my janaazah (funeral) do it at night so that the people will not see my figure.” Subhan Allah! This was a woman who was full of modesty and was known for her modesty. She is the daughter of the most modest and most bashful (SAWS). She said, “Whenever you bury me, bury me in the evening so that no one would see my figure.” Subhan Allah! And that is how she was buried at night. But Allah (SWT) joined her with her father (SAWS) and she took her rightful position as the Queen, the leader, of the women of Paradise.

Now I just want you to think about this for a moment. Who was a greater woman than Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha? Who is more deserving of a lavish wedding and of a high mahr and of living a life of joy and luxury than Fatima Radi Allahu ta’ala ‘anha? But that is not what true royalty is. Because a kingdom that will be taken away at any moment is not a real kingdom at all. But rather that which is eternal and everlasting ‘والآخرة خيرٌ وأبقى’ [wal aakhiratu khayrun wa abqa]- that which is everlasting is what truly matters. And she is a Queen in that regard and she is Royal in Jannah.

And we ask Allah (SWT) to grant us that high and royal company in the highest of levels jannat-ul-Firdaus. Allahumma ameen.

My Lord Build For Me A Home With You In Paradise

It was narrated that Ibn Abbaas (RA) said Prophet of Allah [Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him]
drew four lines on the ground, then said: “Do you know what this is”? We said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said: “The Best of the women of Paradise are
1: Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid
2: Faatimah bint Muhammad
3: Aasiyah bint Mazaahim  [the wife of Pharaoh]
4: Maryam bint Imraan ~ [may Allah be pleased with them all.]

It was narrated from Anas (RA) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Sufficient for you among the women of the world are
Maryam the daughter of Imran.
Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid.
Faatimah bint Muhammad.
Aasiyah the wife of Pharaoh.”

Aasiyah bint Mazaahim (R.A)[The Wife of Pharaoh] The Qur`an has presented Aasiyah bint Mazaahim (R.A.) as one of the best role models for women. Aasiyah (r.a.) greatness is in the fact that although she was the wife of one of the most powerful, arrogant, and tyrant rulers of Egypt, she was able to see and accept the truth in the message of Prophet Musa [Alaihis Salam].

For her, wealth, beauty, or status was not the main criterion of human excellence; she realized that without faith in God, a human being has nothing. [ALLAH had chosen her to provide refuge to Musa [Alaihis Salam] when he was an infant.] When her maids brought the cradle of Musa [A.S.] from the river, she insisted to Pharaoh that she wanted to adopt that infant as a child. The wife of Pharaoh said. ‘Here is the joy of the eye, for me and for thee: slay him not. It may be that he will be use to us, or we may adopt him as a son.’And they perceived not what they were doing. {Source  Qur’an Surat Al-Qasas (The Stories) 28 A #9 }

Aasiyah bint Mazaahim (r.a.) had declared her faith in the message of God after witnessing the miracle of Musa [Alaihis Salam] in the Court of the Pharaoh; and after witnessing the death of another believing woman under torture. Pharaoh tried to turn her away from the God of Moses and sought her mother’s help. But Aasiyah (r.a.) refused to reject the God of Moses. Pharoah said ‘Believe ye in Him before I give you permission? Surely this must be your leader who has taught you magic Be sure I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and I will have you crucified on trunks of palm trees: so shall ye know for certain, which of us can give the more severe and the more lasting punishment’.

On Pharaoh’s order, she was tortured to death.  The Qur’an sets her as an example for believers to stay away from evil and sin despite the full assault of the devil: Allah sets forth an example for those who believe- the wife of Pharaoh who said ‘ My Lord, build for me with You a house in Heaven and save me from the Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from an unjust people.’

A Lil Note: In this Lady, we see the example of supreme sacrifice by marrying Pharaoh, Aasiyah bint Muzahim became the Queen of Egypt, she gained everything that she wanted in this worldly life from the materialistic point of view: the best of clothes, food, palaces, jewels, servants and maids, etc. But she sacrificed all that to be closer to Allah {Azza Wa Jall} And that is why we see her included by the Prophet [Peace be upon him] in the list of the four women who attained the level of perfection.

Will There Be More Men Or Women In Paradise?

Men and women engaged in this dispute when the Sahaabah were still alive. Muslim reports from Ibn Sireen: “Men and women disputed as to which of them would form the majority in Paradise. According to another report, either they were competing, or they were discussing, whether there would be more men or women in Paradise. They consulted Abu Hurayrah, who said that women would form the majority, on the basis of the words of the Prophet (saw): “The first group to enter Paradise will be as beautiful as the full moon, and the group that follows them will be like the brightest shining stars in the sky: each man of them will have two wives, the marrow of whose leg-bones will be visible through the flesh because of their extreme beauty. There will be no one who is unmarried in Paradise” [Sahih Muslim, Kitaab al-Jannah, Baab awwal zumrah tadhkul al-Jannah, 4/2179, hadith no. 2834]

This hadith clearly indicates that there will be more women than men in Paradise. Some others thought that there would be more men, because of the hadith, “I saw that they [women] formed the majority of the people of Hell”. The response to this is the fact that women will form the majority of the inhabitants of Hell does not necessarily mean that they will be a minority in Paradise, as Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalaani said [Fath al-Baari 6/325]

The two hadiths may be reconciled by stating that women will be in the majority in both Paradise and Hell, just as there are more women than men in this world. We could say that the hadith narrated by Abu Hurayrah indicates that the total number of women in paradise, including women of this world and al-Hoor al-‘Eeyn, will outnumber men. The question then is, who will be greater in number in Paradise: the men of this world or the women? al-Qurtubee reconciled these two hadiths by suggesting that women will form the majority of the inhabitants of Hell before the Shafaa’ah [intercession] when the sinners from amongst the muwwahideen will be brought out of Hell. Thereafter women will form the majority of the people of Paradise. [at-Tadhkirah, al-Qurtubee, p. 475]

Passing Away Of Bibi Fathimatuz Zuhra Radiallahu Taala Anhu

The Prophecy of the Holy Prophet Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam about his passing away of Fathima radiallahu taala anhu being the first to join him from his family and The Leader of the women in Jannah.

Narrated By Ummul Monineen Ayesha Sidqiqa radiallahu taala anhu

Ayeshah (radiallhu taala anhu ) narrates, “Fatimah (radiallahu taala anhu) came
and her way of walking was just like that of the Holy Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam). The Holy Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam). welcomed his beloved daughter and seated her on his right hand side or on the left hand side. Then he whispered something to her which made her cry. So I asked her why she was crying. Then the Holy Prophet whispered something to her and she laughed. So I said, ‘I have never seen happiness so close to sadness as I have seen today.’ I asked (Fatimah [radiallahu taala anhu ] ), ‘What did the Holy Prophet say?’ She replied, ‘I cannot disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah .’ When the Holy Prophet passed away I asked her again (about this incident)
and she replied, ‘The Holy Prophet whispered to me, ‘Every year Jibraeel recites the whole of the Quran with me once but this year he has recited it twice. I am sure that the end of my time in this world has come and indeed you are the first from my family who will come to me.’ This made me cry. Then the Holy Prophet whispered, ‘Are you not happy with the fact that you are the leader of the women of Paradise or the leader of all Muslim women To this I laughed.’”

Abu Hurairah (adiallahu taala anhu) narrates that the Holy Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam) said, “An angel in the skies who had not seen me requested permission from Allah (Subhaana taala) to see me (which he was granted); he told me the good news or brought me the news that Fatimah (radiallahu taala anhu ) is the leader of all women in my nation.

3. Haythami said in Majma-uz-zawaid (9:201) this tradition has been narrated by Tabarani and has declared its narrators sahih (sound) except Muhammad bin Marwan Zahl

While Ibn Hibban has declared Muhammad bin Marwan Zahli as very sound

Hudhaifah (radiallahu taala anhu ) narrates that the Holy Prophet Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam said, “There is an angel who before tonight had never come down to earth, asked permission from his Lord to offer salam (salutations) to me and to deliver the good news to me that Fat’imah (radiallahu taala anhu ) is the leader of all women of Paradise and Hasan (radiallahu taala anhu ) and Husain (radiallahu taala anhu) are the leaders of all the youngsters in Paradise

Abdullah Ibn Abbas (radiallahu taala anhu) narrates that Holy Prophet (Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam) said to Fatimah ( radiallahu taala anhu ), “From my household you will be the first to join me.”

The Passing away of Fathima radiallahu taala anhu

Umm Salma (radiallahu taala anhu ) narrates, “When Fatimah (radiallahu taala anhu ) had the illness which took her life, I nursed her. During this time, on one occasion her condition was slightly better one morning. Ali ( radiallahu taala anhu ) had gone out for some job. Fatimah said, ‘O mother! Bring some water for me to bathe.’ I brought some water and as far as I saw she bathed perfectly. Then she said, ‘O mother, bring me new clothes’ so I gave her clothes to her and she put them on. Then she said, ‘O mother! Make my bed for me in the middle of the house,’ so I did accordingly. Then she laid down, faced towards the Kabah, placed her hand under her cheek and said, ‘O mother! It is time for my death and I have purified myself . Do not let anybody undress me.’ Fatimah (radiallahu taala anhu ) passed away in that very position.”

Umm Salmah continues, “Then Ali (radiallahu taala anhu ) came back and I informed him of Fatimah’s  (radiallahu taala anhu ) death.

On Judgement Day, everyone will lower their gaze on the arrival of Fatimah(radiallahu taala anhu)

Ayeshah ( radiallahu taala anhu ) narrates that the Holy Prophet Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam said, “On the Day of Judgement an announcer will announce, ‘Lower your gazes so that Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad Sallalaahu Alaihi wasallam can pass.’”

Abu Hurairah (radiallahu taala anhu) narrates this marfu tradition that on the
Day of Judgement a voice from the depths of the Throne will call out, “Oh people of mahshar! Bow your heads and lower your gazes until Fatimah ( radiallahu taala anhu) passes through towards Paradise.

3. Hindi said in Kanz-ul -ummal (12:106#34210) that Abu Bakr Muhammad Abdu’Uah-b-Ibrahim narrated it in al -Ghilaniyat through Abu Ayyub Ansari.
4. Khat ib Baghdadi related it in Tarikh Baghdad (8:141)
through Ayeshah with slightly different words.
5. Haytami said in as-Sawaiq-ul -muhriqah (2:557) Abu Bakr Muhammad Abdu’Uah-b-Ibrahim narrated it in al-Ghilaniyat.
