Hadith Qudsi: Iftar Mein Jaldi
What Is Lawful And What Revokes Fasting
Fasting earns Allah’s pleasure. Allah said: Every deed by the son of Adam is for him, except the fasting, it is for Me and I will give its reward.
Every deed of a believer is rewarded from 10 to 700 times but there is no deed which may equal fasting. It is, therefore, necessary to know the rules for the preservation of our fast to earn Allah’s great pleasure.
The Mother of the Believers Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to be in ritual impurity by the dawn, and then he used to take a bath. The ritual impurity does not invalidate the fasting, provided one takes a bath in the morning.
It is also reported by Ayesha, that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to kiss her and embrace her while fasting out of pure love without any passion.
Hanafis and Shafiis said:
· One who gets excited and passionate should keep away from kissing.
· To take an injection by way of treatment is allowed, no harm is done to his fasting. (As-Shafii)
· No harm is done if one swallows saliva. While using Siwak one can swallow saliva.
· It may be noted the use of Siwak stops thirst as it makes the glands produce saliva which controls thirst.
· If a woman gets impure from menses or puerperium by the morning, she can continue her fasting. She should take a bath and offer prayers.
· If water gets into the belly of a fasting person unintentionally then no harm is caused to his fast.
· To use Kohl and eye drops are allowed, even if one feels its taste in the throat because it does not reach the belly (As-Shafii).
· Rinsing of the mouth and sniffing is allowed but it should not be exaggerated as water may go into the belly thus invalidating the fast.
· Ibn Abbas said: There is no harm in tasting the foodstuff you want to buy. Do not swallow but spit it out.
· Ibn Taymiyya said: There is no harm in smelling the good smells for a fasting person.
· Engaging in sexual intercourse will revoke the fast and one should compensate for his invalidated fasting and expiate.
· Expiation is to liberate a slave or fast for 60 days continuously or feed 60 persons. Or he can choose any of the three methods of expiation.
· Anyone who intentionally breaks his fast shall have to compensate for the fast and expiate as mentioned above.
· If anyone drinks or eats forgetting that he was fasting, no harm is done to his fast, and he should complete his fast.
· If a fasting person vomits, no harm is done to his fast, but if he vomits intentionally, he should complete his fast but he will have to compensate for that fast.
· If anyone commits masturbation or deliberately ejects his semen he has to expiate.
· If one eats or drinks or copulates believing that the dawn has not begun as yet and the contrary of that appears to him then he has to compensate for his fast and no expiation is due on him.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The fasting and the Qur’an will intercede for the Believing person on the Day of Judgment.
Fast will say: “O Lord! I prevented him from the food and desire during the day, so accept my intercession for him.” The Qur’an will say: “I prevented him from sleep during the night, so accept my intercession for him.” Allah will accept both the intercessions.
We are required to protect our fast to get Allah’s rewards that are so precious on the Day when nothing will help except our good deeds and fasting observed only to earn Allah’s pleasure.

Ramadan: A Month Of Enormous Blessings
We Are Now So Fortunate That Allah Ta’ala Has Blessed Us With This Great Month Of Ramadan. We Wish To Share With You Some Beautiful Advise As Passed On To Us By The Greatest Teacher The Noble And Final Messenger Of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him). This Message Was Delivered On The Last Day Of Sha’baan.
Salman (Radhiallaho Anhu) reports On the last day of Shabaan, Rasulullah (Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam) addressed us and said: Oh people there comes over you now a great month, a most blessed month in which lies a night more greater in virtue than a thousand months.
It is a month in which Allah has made fasting compulsory by day and has made sunnah the Taraweeh by night. Whosoever intends drawing near to Allah by performing any virtuous deed, for such person shall be the reward like the one who had performed a Fard in any other time and whoever performs a Fard, shall be blessed with the reward of seventy faraaidh in any other time.
This is indeed the month of patience and the reward for true patience is Jannah (paradise). It is the month of sympathy with one’s fellowmen. It is the month wherein a true believer’s rizq is increased.
Whosoever feeds another who fasted, in order to break the fast (at sunset), for the feeder there shall be forgiveness of sins and emancipation from the fire of Jahannam (hell) and for such feeder shall be the same reward as the one who fasted (who he fed) without that person’s reward being decreased in the least.
Thereupon we said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, not all of us possess the means whereby we can give a fasting person to break his fast’ Rasulullah (Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam) replied Allah grants the same reward to the one who gives a fasting person to break the fast a mere date or a drink of water or a sip of milk.
This is a month, the first of which brings Allah’s mercy, the middle of which brings His forgiveness, and the last of which brings emancipation from the fire of Jahannam.
Whosoever lessens the burden of his servants (bondsmen) this month; Allah will forgive him and free him from the fire of Jahannam.
And in this month four things you should continue to perform in great number, two of which shall be to please your Lord, while the other two shall be those without which you cannot do. Those which shall be to please your Lord, are that you should in great quantity bear witness that there is no deity to worship except Allah (i.e. recite the Kalimah Tayibbah Laa Ilaaha illallah) and make much Istighfaar (beg Allah’s forgiveness with Astaghfirullah) and as for those without which you cannot do, you should beg of Allah entrance into paradise and ask refuge in Him from Jahannam.
And whoever gives a person water to drink, Allah shall grant that giver to drink from my fountain, such a drink whereafter that person shall never again feel thirsty until he enters Jannah.

Aapas Mein Keena Rakhne Walo Kay Liay Haq Sulah Aur Keena Ki Muzamat
Anyone Killed A Person, Killed All Mankind. Anyone Saved A Person, Saved All Mankind
Allah’s saying: “Anyone killed a person, killed all mankind. Anyone saved a person, saved all mankind”
[5.Surah Al-Maidah : Ayahs 27]
“And relate to them the story of the two sons of Adam (alaihi salaam) with truth when they both offered an offering, but it was accepted by one of them and was not accepted by the other. He said: I will most certainly slay you. (The other) said: Allah only accepts from those who guard (against evil).”
[5.Surah Al-Maidah : Ayahs 28-29]
“If you will stretch forth your hand towards me to slay me, I am not one to stretch forth my hand towards you to slay you surely I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Surely I wish that you should bear the sin committed against me and your own sin, and so you would be of the inmates of the fire, and this is the recompense of the unjust.”
[5.Surah Al-Maidah : Ayahs 30-31]
“Then his mind facilitated to him the slaying of his brother so he slew him; then he became one of the losers. Then Allah sent a crow digging up the earth so that he might show him how he should cover the dead body of his brother. He said: Woe me! do I lack the strength that I should be like this crow and cover the dead body of my brother Earth? So he became of those who regret.”
[5.Surah Al-Maidah : Ayahs 32]
Because of that, We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. And indeed, there came to them Our Messengers with clear proofs, evidences, and signs, even then after that many of them continued to exceed the limits (e.g. by doing oppression unjustly and exceeding beyond the limits set by Allah by committing the major sins) in the land!.

Sahabah Of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam)
The companions (Radiallaahu Anhum) of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) are the criterion of the Truth. It was from the Sahabahs that the world learned what the Deen of Islam was. It is from the Sahabahs that we have been able to establish the true Shariah. It is from the Sahabahs that we obtained the Sunnah of our Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam).
The Sahaabah constitute the pivots of Deen of Islam. They are the upholders and defenders of Deen of Allah. History cannot show us any other group which has sacrificed so much blood for the glory of Allah’s Name than the Sahaabahs – may the pleasure of Allah be with them perpetually!
Hadhrat Shah Waliullah (Rahmatullaahi Alayh) has recorded in his book, “Izaala-tul-Khifaa”, approximately one hundred verses of the Qur’an Majeed which put the seal on the sanctity and the elevated position of the Sahabahs. The Qur’an Majeed raises the Sahabahs to such a lofty status that to compare them (Sahabahs) with non-Sahabahs
would be a grievous error.
Said the Holy Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) “Fear Allah! Fear Allah with regard to my Sahabahs. Do not make them a target after me. Whosoever loves the Sahabah loves them because of my love. And, whosoever dislikes them because he dislikes me. He who harms them has harmed me. And, he who harms me has caused hurt to Allah. And, he who causes hurt to Allah, Allah will soon grab hold of him.” – Tirmizi

Hasan Basri And the Fire-Worshipper
Hasan Basri is revered as one of the greatest saints of early Islam. Brought up in Basra, he met many companions of the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam including seventy of those who fought at the Battle of Badar.
Hasan Basri’s neighbour Simeon, a fire worshipper, fell ill and was on deathbed. Hasan called on him and found him discoloured with fire and smoke.
Fear God, Hasan counselled him. You have passed all your life amid fire and smoke. Embrace Islam so that God may have mercy on you.
Three things keep me from becoming a Muslim,
Simeon replied. First, you speak ill of the world, yet you run after worldly things day and night. Second, you fear facing death, yet you do not prepare for it. Third, you believe in seeing God’s face, yet you do everything contrary to His good pleasure.
This is the token of those who know truly, Hasan commented. Now if believers act as you describe, what have you to say? They acknowledge the unity of God whereas you have spent your life in fire worship. You who have worshipped fire for seventy years and I who have never worshipped fire – we are both carried off to Hell. Hell will consume both you and me. God will pay no regard to you; but if God so wills, the fire will dare not burn one hair
of my body. For fire is a thing created by God; and the creature is subject to the Creator’s command. Come now, you who have worshipped fire for seventy years; let us both put our hands into the fire, then you will see with your own eyes the impotence of fire and the omnipotence of God. Saying that Hasan thrust his hand into the fire and held
it there. Not a particle of his body was affected or burnt.
When Simeon saw this he was amazed. The dawn of true knowledge began to break. For seventy years I have worshipped fire, he groaned. Now only a breath or two remains to me. What am I to do? Become a Muslim, Hasan replied.
If you guarantee in writing that God will not punish me, said Simeon, then I will believe. But until I have it in writing, I will not believe it. Hasan wrote it down and the witnesses endorsed the document. Then Simeon wept bitterly and accepted Islam. He spoke his last testament to Hasan. When I die, bid them wash me, then commit me to the earth with your own hands, and place this document in my hand. This document will be my proof. Having charged Hasan thus, he spoke the attestation of faith and died. They washed his body, said the prayer over him, and buried him with the document in his hand.
That night Hasan went to sleep pondering what he had done. How could I help a drowning man, seeing that I am drowning myself? Since I have no control over my own fate, why did I venture to prescribe how God should act? With this thought he fell asleep and saw Simeon in a dream glowing like a candle; on his head was a crown, robed in fine raiment, he was walking with a smile in the garden of Paradise. How are you, Simeon? Hasan inquired.
Why do you ask? You can see for yourself, Simeon answered. God Almighty of His bounty brought me nigh His presence and graciously showed me His face. The favours He showered upon me beggar description. You have honoured your guarantee; so take your document. I do not need it anymore.
When Hasan awoke, he saw that parchment in his hand. O God, he cried, I know well that what You do is without cause, save of Your bounty. Who shall suffer loss at Your door? You grant a fire worshipper of seventy years to come into Your near presence because of a single utterance. How then will You exclude a believer of seventy years?
